About the Book
The stories in this collection reflect broken dreams and lost love, family struggles, simple pleasures, secrets revealed, and truths shared—from the perspective of mothers, daughters, sons, lovers, and even goddesses. The island can be welcoming or hostile, a home that beckons a return or sends us fleeing, with the nature that surrounds us acting as a palpable force that can both soothe and threaten.
Any resemblance to actual Bainbridge Islanders is purely coincidental—and yet, likely inevitable.
Jessica Dubey A longtime Bainbridge Island resident who works in communications, Jessica gets her best story ideas while swimming in the icy waters of Puget Sound.
