About

I am an artist and academic researcher whose work explores a broad range of interests including painting, fine art film, and collaborative research projects resulting in my artwork being exhibited in different and varied contexts. I am primarily a painter and my work recalls a personal history that goes beyond the individual towards a contemplation of more universal themes such as memory, time, childhood and our relationship with the landscape.
Through the working and re-working of layers of paint; a process that itself becomes a container for thoughts, time is slowed down enabling a re-experiencing of moments of heightened emotion to allow a closer look at that which is often overlooked. It is informed by the history of painting and recurring themes throughout history

I have a PhD from the University of Wales, a Post Graduate Diploma in Painting (MA) from The Royal Academy of Arts London.
