Rick McCawley has had a passion for photography for over 30 years. From his first underwater photos in Florida Springs, to shooting the Fine art book "Earth, Air Fire, Water...the dream diaries of Rick McCawley".
Rick Spent 10 years at the Miami Herald as staff a photographer and worked on many well-known national and world events. He was a member of the Pulitzer Prize winning team that covered Hurricane Andrew. He photographed the Miami riots of 1980, where his car was attacked and the window shot out, with a bullet lodged in the back seat. He photographed the first Shuttle launch for United Press International , and was the first photographer to dive down to the sunken Spanish galleon "Nuestra Senora de Atocha". He has been published in Time, The New York Times, and countless other publications.
Rick holds an M.A. in Fine Arts in Photography from Barry University, Miami. He is currently a professor of Graphic Design at Broward Community College, and is the recipient of the
