Kirsten Bowen is a New York based artist and graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design.
She began work in NYC as a carpet and textile designer employing her love of pattern. 1995-2004 Bowen had a mural painting and decorative finish business that eventually gave her the skills and techniques that evolved her career into the fine art for which she is known. In 2004 Kirsten opened the Kirsten Bowen Gallery in Bexley Ohio. The gallery was called "possibly one of the city's most important galleries" by the Other Paper.
2014 brought Bowen's debut museum exhibition at the Coral Springs Museum of Art encompassing 7 galleries within the museum. Recently she was awarded the upcoming 2016 Artist in Residence at the Reserve at Lake Keowee, and offered a solo exhibit at the Evansville Museum of Art History and Science Museum shop. Kirsten is an empty nester who's performance painting called "Cows Come Home" conveys the desire parents have for their childrens' safe return home.
