Blurb® Ranks No. 47 on the Inc. 500 List of Fastest Growing Companies

San Francisco, Calif.—October 19, 2010— Blurb, the creative publishing and marketing platform, today announced the company was ranked No. 47 on the annual Inc. 500 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Blurb was also ranked by Inc. as the fastest growing company in the media category and was ranked among the top five fastest growing women-led companies.

“We are humbled and amazed to be named by Inc. Magazine as one of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. Even more remarkable is to be named No. 1 in the media category, given the meteoric growth of self-publishing, both print and digital,” said Eileen Gittins, Blurb CEO. “I thank Inc. Magazine for their inspiration and ongoing commitment to entrepreneurs, and congratulate all the companies on this year’s list for their remarkable achievements.”

Blurb, which enables anyone to create, publish, share and sell professional-quality books, has experienced rapid growth since it was founded in 2005. The company’s three-year growth rate of 4,829.6% has been fueled by customers around the world who are eager to share their content in books.

In 2009, Blurb shipped more than 1.2 million books and recorded sales of more than $45 million. In addition to its widespread adoption among the mainstream consumer market, Blurb has become the preferred bookmaking platform of the creative professional community, including photographers, designers, entertainment companies and marketing agencies.

In the past year, the company, which is based in San Francisco, has significantly expanded its business internationally. It has launched personalized services, pricing and shipping options for customers in Australia, Canada and France.
