About the Book
Documenting Urban Decay is a collection of images that represent a fascination with dilapidated or abandoned architecture typically found in a post-industrial city. This fascination comes from an adolescence spent among such relics, an urge to find beauty in the banal, and an interest in urban landscape that started two years ago. The photographs in this project reflect both a city and photographer growing throughout time.
By carefully composing these spaces and emphasizing texture and contrast the aim is to not only document my subjects, but to create a visually appealing image from what may normally be considered unpleasant or mundane.
