About the Book
After all three of her children were diagnosed with mental illness, Juli Cady Ryan's whimsical paintings took on a new direction, telling of her family's journey of pain and hope. This book includes images of her original paintings, poetry and her feelings about each one as an artist and as a mother. Juli hopes to make the conversation about mental illness less taboo.
Juli Cady Ryan is a self-taught artist who has been selling her art worldwide for 12 years. Her art has been in galleries from the Smart Gallery in Springfield Missouri, to the Fuller Lodge Art Center in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Juli continues her efforts in speaking out about her art and her cause in making mental illness a topic of discussion to help take away it's stigma, so more people will seek help.

Cincinnati, Ohio
I'm a self-taught acrylic painter and my art has been sold worldwide and in galleries. I also have many online shops with my art on many different products, like Zazzle and Etsy. My whimsical art has the message of love and hope. Many of my paintings are inspired by my family's struggle with mental illness.
