About the Book
The paintings investigate the way music, geometry, pattern and colour can provide the viewer with varying spaces for internal reflection. Musical structures, such as theme and variation, pitch and timbre, rhythm and repetition, inform the work, as does mathematics. One of its fundamental constructs – the grid, is used as both a structural and a conceptual base giving rise to a multitude of possible spatial / colour relationships each with its own resonance.
