About the Book
"Home/Home" is a series of photographical observations on the differences and contrasts in the everyday environment I've experienced when moving from my native country of Sweden to England to study photography.
The images are shot in Rochester, Kent, where I live whilst studying, and in my hometown of Mörrum, Sweden. I aim to showcase the differences in the two places that I call home in order to give the viewer the chance to explore both sides. The focus is mainly on what can be experienced in the everyday life, such as closeness to the nature I have when living in Sweden compared to the urban and densely populated area I live in in Rochester.
During the progress of the work this have developed into being as much about documenting what I find interesting or fun or standing out in my everyday surroundings and showing this to others, as it a way for me to try and define these two lives and where I stand in-between them.
To further highlight this idea of comparing the places, I decided to turn half the book upside down, adding an element of a physical contrast.
